Home > FRYSC > Contact Us via Email Send To Friend Printer Friendly Version Augusta Independent School's Preschool and Kindergarten Completes the LEAP Program By: Submitted: 1/4/2100 Student's in Preschool and Kindergarten were excited as once a week; Shannon Smith from the Bracken Extension Office and Lisa Bex, FRYSC Coordinator visited their classroom. The LEAP program, Literacy, Eating and Activity Program is a 10 week program in which the students are read a story and introduced to a food that was in the story. The student's were encouraged to try 'a hello bite'. The participation was exceptional and the student's were always in anticipation to find out the next week's lesson and snack. Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month Observed at AIS In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Augusta School Family Resource and Youth Services Center sponsored several activities and events. Pre-School's Day at the Derby - Augusta Style On Thursday April 29th, the students of the Augusta Pre-school class hosted their version of the Kentucky Derby. 'Cats Mania' 2010 On Monday, April 26th, the faculty and staff of Augusta Independent School once again brought their excitement and expectations to the students in a school-wide assembly.
